The John Muir Way. North Berwick to Dunbar (And back)
A few pics of a recent run along the coast to Dunbar which took in detours to Berwick Law and Binning woods natural graveyard. A very enjoyable cruise through woodland trails and riverside singletrack with a few options for refreshment at Dunbar before heading back. These are much loved trails of the Fatbike community and East coasters who have knowledge of other trails in the area which are worth exploring.
A very pleasant alternative to the gnarlier riding I usually do and although not that hilly, you still have to pedal. We did 35 miles with a few detours and general farting about but if you stick to the route it’s 30 miles long there and back.
A Very pleasant spin indeed.
You can pedal most of Berwick Law by the main route up.
A hazy view out to the Bass rock.
Be careful if the grass is wet on the descent.
Undulating trails through quiet woods.
A detour to the natural burial ground of Binning wood and a wee exploration of the trails.
I couldn't help myself.
You have to take to the sand to see how crap 2.4 tyres are for this type of going.
Just need a "Kiss me quick" hat and a bucket and spade.....or maybe a fatbike.
The grassy trail after skirting the golf course.
