Anyone been up lately and know if there's much snow around as thinking of taking the Fatty up on Friday? 😀

It's super muddy just now, probably best avoided, not because you won't have a great ride, but so that you don't cut it up any further.

Was up on Saturday and it was bone dry and running really fast. Probably a bit damp and greasy now after Monday, Tuesday's rain. By tomorrow it will probably only be wet in the boggy bits. To be dry until Sunday too, go for it.

Super pylon installation work affecting lower half of the descent to Logie Kirk. Rode the Burnwarroch gully descent last Saturday: Pretty wild but doable on a slack enduro bike. Pleasant trail then bike lane back to the kirk.

Is that the name of the south face decent? If so its not to be taken lightly and is only to be done if you are an advanced rider and conditions are good!

and you don't mind dead sheep lol.

it was pretty boggy yesterday and with a lot of rain in the last day it will be muddy, "the bog" is in terrible shape, however mine etc. are all riding pretty good, if a lot of wear and tear, clear a lot more people are riding the trails these days ( and braking all over the place..)

That's the first time I've ever been accused of being an advanced rider! 😎 Was riding a mince tank though! There are a couple of rocky + exposed bits in the gully and the lower hillside is super steep (but easier). Really great way off the hill!

Here is the Strava profile for the normal route up and the south face decent after we rode it the other night, I think it says it all -

And Ive got yo say that the bushes att eh bottom of the hill are growing up fast, it will be a no go zone for another year within a couple of weeks if not less! :eh:
